I dunno'..
I tested my LRP ZR.30X in my DM-1 the other day - was awesome.. I was expecting a flatt-ish top, but it was ripping pretty well. Nice carb behavior too.. And I got that engine for €64 shipped. It really is a very good basher engine - even at double that price..
The Picco is no doubt a killer engine, but at over 200 bucks I'm still skeptical that I really need it.., given my fleet, needs, budget, etc.. When I know I can get a Losi 454 (or LRP Spec 3, or SH Truggster, which is the same..)for half the price.. Or another LRP ZR.30X for €130.. With exchange rate and Amain discount the Picco would run me probably €180 or so, shipped to a relative in the States.. So it costs more and requires a more circuitous way to get my hands on it.. Just looking at price, €180 for the Picco vs. €130 for the LRP 30(local, guarantee, etc..) , I think I'd take the LRP...
I really want to try a Picco, but right now I'm too spread out in my cars, and just started flying too. So the pressure to remain a cheap-skate is not abating..
My main LST2 basher is still mangled up from a crash early in the summer anyway.. More into buggy and truggy recently..

I to would love to try a picco 5tr but my lrp 30 has like 4 tanks through it. Still not sven broke in yet. And its a beautiful engine. Ive had alot of lrps and ive had a picco p3 before but didnt have much luck. So im gonna see whT happens.
You said u fly? I have a plane that ive never flown. I dunno.. I got it for a good price and its brand new. Just not sure if i want to crash haha. Does rctech support airplane sales? Never really seen any planes on here for sale. Wondering if i can post mine up for sale here.

If Tower would sell the Picco I'd be more likely to get one. Their discounts can be sizeable..
I practiced with a free Ipad app, then got a Hobbyzone Champ, and now have a Delta Ray. Pretty fun - and easy to fly. Especially the Champ.. Not sure how serious I want to get in to it. More location and weather critical than cars, which is already annoying..

I took the beast out today and wanted to dial in the tune a little better but even after half a turn on the low end she still seems to load up and cut out when i mash the throttle after 30 secs of idle the high end seems to be awesome lots of smoke nice smooth power but im reluctant to lean the low end anymore.
#22
still seems like the low end is too rich. did u try to go back to factory settings?
#23
indeed i did but its just rich you can barely tell on the high end because of the power, but the low end just makes it bog out quicker ill try another 1/4 turn maybe on the low speed.

Just passed my first gallon. Man i love my new XXL. Could probably Lean er out some more but im just gonna stick with these settings, popping wheelies with a 13 LB truck is more than enough.

Would be nice to see her screaming

Yeah, I'm still waiting to see something to push me to get one... Some top speed runs on pavement or short grass would show the power...
#27
LoL i set up my camera to get a couple high speed passes for you on pavement and as i was warming her up i lost RWD. The inner bearing on my back wheel disintegrated

Ouch.. Well, if you're gonna' have those kinds of problems, at least it's down to having a killer engine..
