1/5 Rampage Electric Conversion

My friend Mr. 505 Marcus White is working on this 1/5 Rampage Conversion.....I picked up the Truck back in May down at Diggers Dungeon in a trade. Marcus found a thread on another forum of a guy doing a homemade conversion and he wanted to do the same, buuuuuuut Kershaw Designs beat him to it so he purchased it from them. So far he got the truck stripped, cleaned and chassis painted. He picked up a Traxxas 1/5 XL2 ESC and motor for it. Here is his progress so far

These are cool trucks, freaking heavy but cool. I've always wanted one and it would be cool to do a conversion. Let me guess, he saw the other conversions on RC-Monster. There are a couple good ones on there. That is one of the better designs I've seen from Kershaw. I still cringe when I see all those locknuts holding the waterjet cut aluminum together though. Can't wait to see more, keep us updated.

Those batteries wont last more than a few runs...i run ones that are 10c higher in my 5ive and they get super hot and swell...With the rampage as heavy as it is with those big tires those batteries arent up to it..Actually they dont even meet the min recomendation from castle..

Yeah 20-30 c is not nearly enough. They have more than that when running 2wd buggy.

Good eye, it is bent. Gotta bend it back or replace it.

chadj1980 10-04-2013 09:55 PM

I had a mt that bent them all the time...I think it was from so much chassis flex in the rear..It was a great truck though..

Kingclod27 10-05-2013 06:44 PM
