On 6s I don't think I'd be able to keep the wheels down much at all.
Yep. We both got the same motor, leppy 4092 1480kv.

Oh sweet, and you're still using the 63t spur? Will you be able to get a top speed on 6s when you get the 28t pinion??

Will try guys but it won't be very soon as I don't have that big of a space for 50'ish mph. My usual bashing spot is good for 40'ish mph only.

@jrow, yep 63t spur still.

Got a chance to test my 6s - 22t/63t a bit and I could really hear my slippers slipping a lot than my previous setup (hope it won't wear out very quick) 0.o

I've been running my hd slippers for quite a while and it's been great..
I've got mine tightened 1 full turn out from fully tight if that makes sense

My slippers is set at 1/4 to 1/2 turn out already. Do you service your slippers regularly?

since ive installed my HD slippers i havent even checked them..i only checked to see if the bolt hasnt loosened up so i tighten and then about a full turn out..
ive got a funny feeling youre bolt may need changing as they can tend to back off as the bolt thread tends to wear off easily..has happened to me previously now that i remember

@ jrowles91 Sorry it took so long to get some pics of the trucks but here they are.

This is the JB Weld Special I did for my nephew. Total cost for the conversion minus electronics was about $25. The truck was purchased for $75 complete and even the electronics are on the cheap side. The stock jr590 servos are still there but are powered at 6volts by a Castle Bec which makes a huge improvement. The MMM and 2200kv are well used units from my collection turning 25/63 gearing, LST1 bevels in transmission on 4s for just about 40mph on the gear calc.

The Lexan battery tray I made and attached to the stock brake and reverse servo mounts. The straps just slip under the tray. He runs a hard case so the screws don't matter, this is one my packs just for demonstration. The pack is secure like this (10yr old kid tested!) but you could always add a front or back and still have it be one piece if you cut it out right.

The tray is strong, you can lift the truck by it, even shake it if you want. Gotta be lexan though, no plexiglas.

This is a JB Weld single speed. Just remove the 2 speed clutch, make sure the 2nd gear hub is seated on the 2nd gear cam and fill the 2nd gear hub with JB Weld. You can see the 2nd gear cam poking out of the JB Weld in the center. 1st gear parts are totally removed and the slipper works just like yours.

The Transmission got the JB Weld treatment too. All unnecessary Low and Reverse gears were removed. The ones needed for Hi and Forward were JB welded to their shafts to keep them in place. I was tempted to drill and pin them but the JB was easier.

This is my bad boy XXL. The conversion wasn't done quite as cheap as my nephews truck but still somewhat frugal. Homemade motor mount, Losi single speed hub, used Hyper 9e battery tray and homemade esc and Rx box mounting plates. When I get around to it I'll be making a new battery tray out of Lexan like I did with my nephews truck. The Hyper 9e tray is a tight squeeze for my current 5s packs and I want to pick up some 6s packs. I need to get my Castle Bec wired in too so I can run the servo at 7.4volts. The rest of the trucks details are MMM esc, Castle 1717, single Hitec HSR5980TG steering servo no servo saver, Proline 40 series Trenchers on Axial rims, Losi 1/2" extended hexes to maintain original width at outside edge of tires. She's geared 25/63 with XXL bevels for about 50mph. This truck could end up totally changed though. I might end up following themanwithnonam's lead and finally putting a center diff in this over the winter, we shall see.

Notice the plate under the Rx box and the pieces missing around the screws. This is what happens when you use Plexiglas instead of Lexan. I knew it, but I had some scraps of Plexi, no lexan and was impatient. Already made new ones and replaced the esc plate, gotta swap this one out yet.

Very nice man! And here I thought I was doing something unique Lol. Couple questions though. In reference to the battery tray, how did you get your bend so straight? I don't have a vice or anything , I would have to do it by hand. Also I'm not sure I understand the single speed JB weld job.

Do you have a link to the center diff mod? What would that make better?
