Default Stampede 2wd or Savage xs ss kit?

Guys, can you suggest w/c one I should buy, a Traxxas stampede 2wd xl5 rtr or a Savage XS SS kit version?

They're both $200-220-ish w/c is right on the budget. The stampede 2wd seems to have a good size, bigger tires and RTR and cheaper to maintain but I'm also considering it's terrain limitations being only 2wd. The Savage XS SS kit have upgraded parts out of the box and can also use big 5"+ 2.2 tires as well, plus it's 4wd but a bit hard to do repair or maintenance work plus it has no electronics.

Now, I got a spare radio, esc and motor lying around somewhere for a kit but I still have to ask. Thanks.

I would buy the xs hands down. It's a tough truck, its 4wd, has legendary hpi customer support and reliability..etc.. You can use a tower coupon and get the rtr xs for only $250...

Just browsing around, but thought I would add my 2 or 3 cents to this. Both trucks are very nice in there own way. IF your NEW to the hobby I would suggest the Stampede hands down, easier to work on , parts are almost always in stock at your hobby store , and in short a all around fun truck. The Flux on the other hand is a beast of a little truck, its 4 wheel drive so can handle alot , on the other hand it is ALOT harder to work on for a person who is kinda new to the hobby and doesnt know that much. So In short its simple, If your just getting into the hobby and want something reliable, easy to work on, lots of parts for it. I would go Stampede. If you want a solid and capable truck and arent worried about doing some extra work with repairs or upgrades. The the Flux is your choice. Whatever you choose, both trucks are awesome, I miss being able to get out and play around with mine.
