Default Finishing up my last project..

I just finished converting one of my 5 Losi 8ight T 2.0's lol..

Went with Tekin again, 2000KV.. Painted my first body.. I know the tires need rotated to the other side, i was watching Dark Skies while wrenching and wasn't paying attention lol.. I went with HPI Dirt Clawz for tires, they just look and feel like they are going to be GREAT bashing truggy tires!!

This was a lightly used TLR 2.0 Race Roller, i went through the whole thing, redid the diffs, went with 7k-F / 7K-C / 5K-R with weights, it's put a stop to the front ballooning, i may go with 10K in the center, i haven't really had a chance to really bash it yet..

Its too clean though man it needs some dirt on it!

The beveled edges should be facing outside, fyi

Nice build there, btw.

He's too busy "bolting on parts" and not making any vid to back up his claims.

LGWGM, put the beveled part of the gear facing outside on one of your own diff's, let us know how that works out for ya!!

I'm fairly sure LGWGM was not referring to the diff gears, but to the inserts that hold the shafts. One face of each insert is beveled on the edges...

I'm not that familiar with Losi internals...yet (I'm about to tear into an LST2 rebuild/conversion). But, the plastic differential case uses metal (aluminum?) inserts for the cross shafts to ride in. It looks to me like the case is rounded or beveled on the outermost area where the inserts go. So, the beveled edges of the inserts likely need to face out. I could be wrong on that, but again, I'm fairly certain that's what LGWGM is talking about. Take that FWIW...or try to make a mountain out of a mole hill if you want. I see a lot of that on this forum.

If that's the case and the inserts are what he was referring then he is correct. Look's like the only one that is not true is the one to the far left in the pic but there are different shades and shadows, they all should probably be eyeball'd again. My apologies for not giving LGWGM the benefit of the doubt, I've seen some wacky'er things posted before...

I can answer that, nothing! This truggy is very quite! I have this thing tuned and dialed. Thats how they go, the planetary gear shims go flat side up.

Then they all should look the same. Clearly one (the left side in the pic) or more is backwards.

I'll tell you what could happen, one or more of the planet gears could wear down faster or create more friction resulting in the diff not working properly. You might not notice it but if you were on a track racing and knew your unit and how it's supposed to perform in corners with different weight diff fluid you would! Of Course its running smoothly, the only time it wouldn't is when it's difing out in a corner.

Tuned and dialed,

Yea, when i run my RC's i just do straight lines and go pick it up, turn it around and set it back on the ground, so i wouldn't know how it's handling in and out the corners

So which is it, they are wrong? or right? Or are you just trying to start a fight by trying to find something wrong?

This forum is about out of control anymore, people always giving their two cents when it's not needed, bickering back and forth, it's stupid and the mods and admins are to blame, they let it go on..

Wow...dude, the poster that initially mentioned it was trying to help you. And I think he's correct, but you obviously can do what you want...go look at Losi's exploded diagrams and how those inserts fit.
