Angry hot fr27?

I have a fantom fr27 in a MGT. This thing runs very hot. 350+ deg.
It is either super rich or burning up. I have sealed the carb and backplate. I was wondering if a low clutch engagement point will cause an engine to run hot?

Default

does the clutch try to engage while at idle to where you have to use brakes to keep it from rolling?
another thing that can make it run hot is if the mesh between the clutch bell and spur it too tight..
sounds more like an air leak though, maybe around the head..

anyway, just some things to check..
