how to hook up 2-5 cell batteries?
i didnt get a reply in the other section i posted this, so i thought i would try here.
im running a reedy 5 cell 1600 mah hump pack in my t maxx. i also have a traxxas 1200 mah 5 cell hump pack battery. can i hook them both up together to get more run time? not more power, but longer run times. that way i can just plug the connector into my battery charger and it will recharge them both up. i can cut & strip the wires on one and tie them on the other battery. would i just tie the red wire to the red & the black wire to the other black wire? i dont want to hook them up where i get double the power! that way i will have 2800 mah run time!
ok so i cut the ends off both 5 cell packs. i then tied them together red to red & black to black. i then crimped a connector on with the end to plug into my charger. i then charged them up and im getting 7.3volts. thats what i usually get with one pack, so thats good. now next time i run i can see how long the 2 packs last. i have a battery meter on my truck, so i will see how long it takes each light on the meter to go down.
i just hope when charging, both packs get charged equal and full.
is this ok to do?
