A quick question, I will be buying an E-Maxx gearbox soon and was wondering if i get the motor mount that mounts to the gearbox, will the castle motor clear it of hit the gearbox ?

hey this is an awesome looking build so far and I would like to ask about your losi 8ight how is that vechile for bashing and just curious are you going to use the stock mounting gear for your mmm esc or are you going to make your own custom plate because I have the mmm esc currrently in my revo that i built and im considering designing my own mounting plate because the traxxas one i kind of pathetic

You can buy the Bl emaxx tranny with the motor mount already on it, and the motor sits on top of the tranny. Or you can build or buy one that mounts to the chassis off to the side of the tranny. I think thats a better choice to keep the center of gravity lower.

personally in my revo the motor sits up high and im not really a fan because every time it rolls i cringe that nothing goes wrong so if i were you id do the side mount like was stated above

The brush less tranny wont bolt up to the tmaxx chassis so a little fab work will have to be done any how. It's minor but if you're gonna fab something up, may as well make it they way you want it.

ahh gotta love custom making parts

Its nothing major Lol. I seen one that a guy made a couple tabs out of scrap metal. The holes on the chassis doesn't line up is all.

I wouldnt hold your breath, its going to be a long build. I will probably make my own mounting for the ESC. as for the 8T i cant really comment on it yet, i havent really done any hardcore bashing in it but have done some pretty big jumps and had some very hard landings and so far its held up pretty good, i will try and get up some vids of the jumps.

Thats something i didnt think about, keeping it low, but i wouldnt mind going for a twin brushless setup.

Yea that another thing i was thinking but i was going to get a roll cage just for peace of mind when i roll it

yep i know that, i seen the build where the bloke made some tabs to mount it so might do something like that aswell.

roll cage is a great idear and if you want to balance weight distribution so you can do away with two batteries do a side mount ant get weight distrubution and also when you make you mounting plate put a slot in her to mount ur esc switch too, trust me its a better idear

I'm thinking about getting an FLM e maxx chassis, I want a MT that goes fast and looks good so I don't really want to custom make my own parts lol Any thoughts or suggestions on different chassis's available ?

That's prolly the most popular chassis right now for a lot of good reasons. Well one cause they're the only ones making them! lol. Nah, its actually a good chassis. that's what I'm running. I did the tmaxx conversion and ended up just building an emaxx from scratch.

Haha I'm getting the feeling that might happen here aswell. The stock front and rear assemblies should bolt straight up to the FLM chassis (I'm assuming??) so when stuff starts breaking I will just replace it with alum parts, which I'm guessing will happen really quickly lol

I have just ordered my chassis (FLM) and a brushless tranny, can anyone suggest a good slipper clutch and also some gearing suggestions ?

Thanks

Robinson has a Gen 3 clutch.
