They use different fuel.
There is a brand new 4.6 Savage SS coming out very shortly. Hold out for it. It is loaded with hop-ups and it will rip. (just need a rechargable nimh hump pack)
I have a Savage .25 and am VERY happy with it.

The Savage is a very good all rounder. It's the ultimate basher, yet has good racing potential too. Very durable.

If you decide to get a Savage - wait for the 4.6 (.28) just as Quinton said. It has alot of the upgrades that people do included in the box, plus the .28 should be half decent too.

If you intend to do lots of racing - the HB Lightning Stadium shouldn't be over-looked. My mates say how stable and easy they are to drive - awesome for jumping too and super quick around the track. I can't wait to get mine!!
