the engine is plenty of power and torque, but the engines likes to run hotter no matter what 280F. anyways is a good engine and you can;t beat the price in amazon if you open the credit card is like 50 off, so you only paid like 60 bucks. |
The black head is the .28-rr which is supposed to be more powerful. The green head is the spec 2s which is cheaper.
Many will tell you the axial engines arent that good, but I have over 10 gallons on mine and it still has great compression. I just had to tear it down for a new front bearing and carb reseal, but it has been a great engine. Always starts easy and is easy to tune. Its not a real top end screamer, but good for a monster truck IMO. |

Mine has a gray head, its the earlier version of the Spec 2s.
The Spec 2s is a decent deal, but if you are going to spend $170+ you are better off to buy a picco or LRP instead of the Axial .28rr. |
I was looking at the .28rr and on some websites it says for truggys and buggys. Will it work on a savage?

As long as it has a pullstart.. If not sure, post a link..

That engine will work fine since it has a pull start.
