hi, i have the green one is the spec 2, and the old axial .28 spec 1.

the engine is plenty of power and torque, but the engines likes to run hotter no matter what 280F.

anyways is a good engine and you can;t beat the price in amazon if you open the credit card is like 50 off, so you only paid like 60 bucks.

The black head is the .28-rr which is supposed to be more powerful. The green head is the spec 2s which is cheaper.

Many will tell you the axial engines arent that good, but I have over 10 gallons on mine and it still has great compression. I just had to tear it down for a new front bearing and carb reseal, but it has been a great engine. Always starts easy and is easy to tune. Its not a real top end screamer, but good for a monster truck IMO.

Which one do you have? The green one(.28 spec 2s) or the black one (.28-rr2)?

Mine has a gray head, its the earlier version of the Spec 2s.

The Spec 2s is a decent deal, but if you are going to spend $170+ you are better off to buy a picco or LRP instead of the Axial .28rr.

I was looking at the .28rr and on some websites it says for truggys and buggys. Will it work on a savage?

As long as it has a pullstart.. If not sure, post a link..

So this is why I'm confused.

That engine will work fine since it has a pull start.
