E-REVO or thunder Tiger MT4
Hi,
I have recently got back into this hobby that I love since childhood I currently own An sc10 4x4, sc18 4x4, mini e-revo vxl. I'm planning a new car in a few days and my direction was towards the E-REVO brushless because I love the merve. Then I found the Thunder Tiger MT4 which looks great. And now I'm torn between both of them and I can only buy one! I mainly bash on road and sometimes offroad I love power and speed. Durability is a very important issue for me because I almost always have to fix my cars after after drive Please advice me on whats the best option from only these two. Price Is not an issue so no need to consider it to make my choice |
Go with the MT4 G3
Full metal driveline, helical cut ring and pinion gears(stronger), stronger suspension and arms, center differential setup makes it more controllable, etc... I just think it will be better all around, durability wise, and handling wise. Although i dont think the revo is bad either, but traxxas is a little behind the times with their plastic shafts and weaker diff's. |
MT4. Less upfront cost to purchase. Less downtime for repairs. Less ongoing cost to keep it running. Handles as good or better than the E Revo.
What's not to like? When Chainsaw wakes up in the morning and sees this thread, you'll really get an eyeful of a response... |
MT4 if you value your hard earned money.
Revo if you would like traxxas to value your hard earned money. |
I have a e revo and i wish i got a thunder tiger.... I regret not getting it :(

I have the ERBE haven't had much trouble with it but was expensive really to expensive but still happy with it
|
Sold my Revo for an MT4. The MT4 costs about the same as a BRUSHED Revo, yet out-performs the BRUSHLESS Revo in almost every area except maybe on-road handling.
|
That is a great comparison...brushless mt4 to brushed revo price. And the MT4 outperforms the BL REVO.
I disagree about one thing though. I think the Mt4 handles much better on road especially speed runs. It tracks very straight and stable and stays much more planted at high speeds. My revo was always more unstable, squirrely and flippy. In my opinion the only thing that the revo is better at is steering. It can turn a much tighter turning radius . It also turns much better at speed. |
Can you post some detailed pictures of the MT4 up? I wouldn't mind getting to know it better myself. It is a relatively new platform but I can't find a lot on it other then praise.

Bigsquidrc has a nice review of it.
