Default savage xl/picco 28 setups .. PLS HELP!!!

hey guys, looking at getting my savage xl all setup and i want it setup right.. i have put the picco .28 in it, but i am wondering what clutch setup i should get.

right now im using the stock xl clutch that comes on the 5.9 but i am looking for good snappy take off.. id like the clutch to enguage a lil later but not too late to break something.. just want that nice snappy take off.. thought about getting the m2c clutch.. i really want to get the buku clutch with komposite pads, but thats a bit expensive for right now..

also, what pipe i should use to do what i want to do with it.. i mostly bash on my 2 acres of land.. some uphill and alot of flats.. i like wheelies and good bottom end power but top end is also nice to have.. was gonna go with the 086 pipe, but was wondering if the 053 would work well as well.. i know the 053 pipe is for bottom and midrange power.. but i could always gear it up.. eventually i would like to get to ercm pipe..

whats a good throttle servo.. looking for a fast one so i can get that direct power to the engine. right now im using the stock hpi servo that came in the savage.. its the waterproof one.. seems to work well.. but i want something fast.. i know theres better out there just dont know which one..

another thing is i have 2 of these picco 28s.. i thought about keeping one stock and having the other modded.. but my question is.. do i really need to have one modded, or is the picco 28 already a crazy animal stock? i have yet to run these motors so i want to find as much info as i can to help me get it setup right as far as clutch, pipe and mods go.. any info would be greatly apreciated.. thanks

No need to mod a Picco .28 if your worried about snapping parts. You mod you will surely have more probs. Picco's have tons of torque allready. If your looking for clutch I would run the OFNA blue shoes 10011 and put the gold springs on they are 1.1mm those are good for the snappy you are looking for.

Thanks man i had already ordered my clutch when i got this but i went ahead and ordered them anyways. I hope ur right haha.

Its not that im afraid to break anything i just dont want to break anything right off haha. Might run it for a while stock and then send the other one out and have it modded later on if i need to. Im sure they go good stock. Which pipe should i get? Im being told to get a 086 but which one? Dynamite or ofna? Is there a difference?

Buy a case of the good stuff. If you run the traxxas stuff you'll never get a great tune and will run hot. I did this before with my picco and stopped running traxxas because it didn't make my engine happy at all.. Just but the 5 gallons and run..

Hell man, just take the drive and buy you about three gallons or so. I have about a 45min drive to go get my O'Donnell fuel.

Do yourself and that picco a favor and take the drive and buy the good stuff and have fun..

get yousefl some Werks fuel....it is much better then OD, especially for your engine....... it makes more power and has far better lubrication.....OD Speed blend is a very dry fuel that will end up eating up that Picco 28's rod bushing........well if you push the high RPM's it will ......OD bad, Werks good !
