Talking 3.8 talon wheel options

I bought a set of talons on 14mm hex, I need 17mm, so what's my options? I have some truggy dish wheels? Any beadlocks that would work? What is this traxxas bead? How do I know if my tires have it? Proline traxxas bead wheel only option?

Generally, if the wheel is a traxxas bead, it will tell you it is a traxxas bead in the specs.

Traxxas Gemini wheels are available in 17mm hex.

Proline desperadoes and Traxxas Geodes are 17mm and also 1/2" offset.

All are traxxas bead.

People who use beadlocks also go with Maximisers or axial ones both with a 17mm hex

Well maximizers are 3.2, so those won't work. Don't know about th axial 40's. Found a thread where guy mounted 3.8 badlands with traxxas bead on VTR 4.0 wheels. So I'm not understanding why I can't mount these on my 4.0 wheels. Guess ill have to wait till I get home. I guess I'm the only one ever to mount 3.8 talons on anything besides stock wheels.

Nope it's possible to use Axial beadlocks on Traxxas bead...here's a thread of them w/Talons mounted.

Thank you, I didn't want to spend $25 on traxxas wheels. I would rather spend $55 on beadlocks

It is possible, but in my experience it doesn`t work well. You have to cut down the bead so it will fit in the grove of the axial wheel and the talons easily escape from the beadlock.
