Default My T-MAXX

Hi guys,
I've been on this forum for a while but I've been quiet, so I decided I'd make this thread on my T-MAXX which I recently bought off Ebay, I will e updating you on the build when I can.

FOR NOW HERE IT IS-
Its a older original .15 Tmaxx, the owner knew a bit about these trucks so he got parts and built this one from scratch using stainless steel screws, its got:
*Built with stainless steel screws
*Newer 4mm thick chassis
*RRP steel 72t spur gear
*Pro-Line Ford Excursion SUV body
*New 3.3 grey bulkheads
*Dynamite aluminum front & rear upper and lower A-arms (silver)
*Traxxas stainless hinge pins with e-clips
*M.I.P center chrome CVD driveshafts
*Dynamite chrome CVD drive axles front & rear
*RPM front hubs with the larger bearings
*RPM front & rear shock towers (black) with SUV type body mounts
*Hot Bodies aluminum shocks (4 purple & 4 blue)

Parts from a newer 2.5 Tmaxx-
*Stock 2.5 forward only conversion transmission
*Stock 2.5 diffs

Stock Parts as far as I know are-
Rear hubs
Chassis braces
Skid plates
Bumpers
Gas tank
Steering/throttle servo mounts

The truck originally came with 4 Revo 3.8" wheels and tires which were near new but I swapped them with my Mini MGT's wheels because they suit this truck better and I also took the 4 blue shocks and put them on my Mini MGT so now I have 4 purple shocks on this and 4 blue shocks on my MMGT, heres some pics-

Thanks guys. I'm planning on fitting in my Team Associated .18 engine from my Mini MGT, I know its not the best engine for the Tmaxx but I know it will be able to move it well though. At the moment I have just completed taking it apart and lubricating and replace parts, I'll post an updated pic soon. I'm planning on buying a few more bits and peices for it including a servo today. I should have it completed and running in about 2 weeks when I get those parts.

So far I've just put the truck back together, and I've also got my parts from towerhobbies and boca bearings (I just got some clutch bearings but those arent in the pic). So heres the parts I've put on/replaced so far, I'm hoping this weekend I'll be able to buy the last bits; the radio boxes, the clutch and engine mount and a new fuel tank. I'm also not quite sure which shocks I should put on. I might de-anodize 4 of the shocks I got with this and put them on or I could put on 8 of my Mini MGT's shocks for bashing.

Now that I can post pics, today I had some spare time on my hand and a 3mm aluminum plate so I made a transmission cover for my Tmaxx-

Heres how the truck sits now-

I cant really install the motor because I need to cut a bit off the crankshaft and the steel is REALLY strong so I'm having a bit of trouble there but heres just a mock up of how it will look-

I cant wait, all I need is to cut the motor shaft a bit and install the battery box and pipe when they come (which is taking ages btw)

Thanks man, you've got a pretty sik truck too.

I finished it today after filing away at the end of the strong crankshaft for like 1 and a half hours -

How sik does this look

I couldnt get a vid of it because it only ran for about 7 mins, it was going great but then I lost/broke my MIP center CVD pin or something so I had front wheel drive, but before that it was a blast, I was jumping over a pile of dirt and it seems like I've got the shock setup just right. This was like the first time driving an rc in 2 months so I'm pretty happy even if the pin broke, but I think its an easy fix by looking at it-

I think all I need to do is cut a nail to the right size and use it as a pin and then just get a grub screw to hold it in place and if that doesnt work I can get this off ebay- http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIP-CVD-Hard...item2a0fcfb230. Once I do that and I tune the engine right (its running a bit hot atm because I changed the pipe without changing the tune) I'll post a vid up.
Cheers

Sorry to hijack your thread but can anyone tell me if the E-Maxx rear skid plates will fit a T-Maxx 2.5?

Cheers, Brett (PC WIZ ausrc)
