They don't mention performance, only ease of starting/tuning (or lack of) and fuel economy.Curious to see where these are going.

Well as far as the fuel goes, it will def help out price wise vs the nitro fuel cost.

They say it will have equivalent power to a STD .26 or .28

Which is exactly what it should be, if it is equivalent to that it should provide just enough power.

If they can just get the ball rolling and release the vehicles with these engines, then im sure the aftermarket and other manufacturers will follow with performance parts/engines. If its equivelant to a .26-.28 then that will be good enough to get the ball rolling. They can improve from there.

I do hope nitro never gets fazed out, but something like this would really make it nice for a person that wants a fuel burner that basically requires no maintenance

So says the buggy whip manufacturer...

Even though I am electric guy, this could be a game changer. A more reliable and cheaper fuel powerplant could be what kills off nitro, not electric.

If the engine performs and ROAR doesn't get in the way of its use on the track then I could see this going somewhere. heck, I might even try it...

People continue to bring up fuel costs. With the $Ks I spend on this hobby the nitro fuel does not seem that bad to me. Less than race fees. I run a couple 1/5 scales as well and I have to buy oil and mix it. I still like the Nitro. Maybe it's just me. I think there is room for gas powered 1/8 scale but really feel that it can't replace nitro. Just my opinion.

For me its not so much the cost as it is driving down town, finding a parking spot 3 blocks away, the paying parking fees. may not matter to some but bit of a turn off for me

Wow. That sounds complicated. Much easier when you live in the city and the LHS all have parking lots with free parking close to the door. LOL.

The question is will these engines be that much less finiky than their nitro counterparts? I mean I know my weed whacker is not hard to run but will this small 2 stroke be that easy to maintain??

are you implying my lhs has a parking lot next to the door? You should look up the word "Downtown", its means central city around these parts. such a rude one you are.

My very first r/c was a Savage .21, I'm going to have to grab one of these just for grins.

Wow! People are gettIng more touchy everyday. I was stating that I don't have to pay for parking or drive very far so it's not complicated for me. So I feel for you.

In more ways than one apparantly.
