Thinking about getting a revo???

Hi guys.

So I know you guys have had this question alot. I'm thinking about buying me a revo to do road runs and dirt runs..

I currently have a losi xxl and I'm looking to get something different to play with. No I don't plan on getting rid or the xxl nor will I.

What do you guys think of the revo for what I plain on doing with it. One more question is it on par with my xxl when it comes to durability?? I know that is a hard question to answer but if it comes close to my xxl I'll have some peace.

Thanks to all who help and if you don't help then bite me lol..

I hate myself for trading my E Revo BE. Its a great truck. With a little tweeking of the suspention its a great truck. Has the handling of a ST but the agressiveness of a MT.

Yeah, I was thinking I wanted to go to the LHS and drop $700 with packs to go back and forth in straight lines down the street and possibly some flat dirt runs too.

If what I typed makes sense then go buy one.

I race against alot of Revo's at my local track. Ill tell you this, on flatter surfaces etc. its fast and handles well. If your looking for a fast good handling rc for the streets its hard to beat. Big jumps, rough terrain is where it struggles many times. Durability IMO is a bit suspect too, especially the front end from hard hits and collisions, but others may disagree. If you want to add another/different rc roller to the stable, I say go for it.

You should still add some more upgrades to your XXL and max out its full and true potential. ;):lol:

IMO if you want something really fast and a change of pace roller to have fun with, then look at an AE SC8. Now thats a FAST BEAST that handles well and its VERY DURABLE.

What are you, everyones financial advisor? If people want to buy a new RC for WHATEVER reason, thats their decision.

Same goes for upgrades or spare parts. Wait till it breaks? And then what?
Order it in, wait a week or 2 and then repair it?

Some of us actually might have a couple extra bucks to ensure we have the upgrades or spare parts on hand instead of your awesome plan of ordering it after it breaks. Yep that makes sense.

Like any rc your gonna buy isnt gonna snap somewhere.... Winter for sure.
I drove my aftershock till the wheels fell off gut full integy upgrade didnt stop it from breaking or bending. right ... Just get it and have a blast upgrading and finding ways to make it indestructable... my opinion you will be well into your wallet by the time it happens and then your gas tank falls off  lol ... Im gonna love getting back in to this... problem is revo or tmaxx

Exactly. It was the OP's decision to make a thread about it and go public just like it was my decision and right to post what I did.

To answer your question, I'm someone that forgot more about RC then you know. Oh yeah, keep 2 different threads 2 different threads but after this....

Yes it does make perfect SENSE brain stem, unlike your idea of ordering hords of parts and playing a guessing game if it "MIGHT" be the part that breaks.. :weird::rolleyes: Yeah, that makes tons of sense...:rolleyes:

Actually the OP didnt ask your permission to buy a Revo so your decision to post about how he's "wasting" his money had nothing to do what he was inquiring about.

And who said anything about ordering HORDES of parts.....get your facts straight. And call me a name again you little punk. Not in the mood.

I see.....so ordering a few parts for spares and upgrades is the same thing as ordering "hordes" of parts.

Dont have to do anything. I'll let the moderators do their job.

You asked a question saying you wanted to do road runs and dirt runs. Yes I was being sarcastic in saying you want to spend $700 just to do this...

Now you change your tune and write this..

Now all of a sudden you want to go jumping with it when at first all you wanted to do was "do road runs and dirt runs".. So yes, thats what I based my first post off of.

Doug I'll give you my 2 cents worth if can help, as far as the xxl compared to thr Revo, all I can compare, with my experiance, is the LST II compared to the Revo Platinum.. from what I understand is the XXL is the replacement of the LST II.. not positive on that one, but for this for now, I'll go with it.. we raced both the LST II and Platinum.. and I was the crew chief also.. so with my experiance both trucks, as with all the other brands out there, have thier good and bad points. the Losi had problems with the one way bearings and that little wire they used up front to tie the stearing together. the one way bearing was replaced with the Dudes single speed.. as far as the Revo goes, I hated the 3.3 engine..Never could get one to run consistent.as far as durability, both, I feel went thru the same abuse and stood up as expected.. if you can find a new Platinum, and there are many out there yet,and some actually lower than when they came out, I would go for one of them if your going towards the Revo..i

Revo

I have a Revo I love it but all my friends went to electric. I'm selling my Revo if your interested
Hy guys I'm selling my traxxas Revo 3.3 with a big block kit and LRP 30 with less then a half gallon through it.. It's a fast truck it has spare parts, chassis, 2 tires the wheels on it now are bow ties in good shape. It has f/r sway bars, e Revo body and wing, k&n filter a gallon of gas that's 90% full. it comes with an mx3 fm remote. The motor is a bump motor so you will need a starter box I'm willing to meet up with people with interest show them that it runs the motor has loads of power here's a video of it running. and I run it rich just because the power is at times too much...NOT INCLUDED IS STEERING SERVO, willing to trade for 1/8 buggy electric but other then that cash. Not sure what to sell it for but make me an offer.
