Hpi hellfire good or bad?
 

Just wondering if a hpi hellfire would be a good rc? Any ideas anyone?

uhhmmmm HPI hellfire has good points but so many bad points. I have heard that the hellfire had some sort of problem. It is fast and you can still control it with great responses. I was impressed with its only one gear LOL. But I've never ever seen one run on track and be competitive. I've also seen more crap break on a hellfire than anything else. If you want a truggy, whether to race or bash steer away from the hellfire. hehehe

I don't know where you heard of the Hellfire having problems.The Savage 5.9 XL has issues,but I have 2 Hellfires that my wife and I consistently whoop on and I will tell you in 2 years the only real problems were caused by landings from 10 ft in the air that blew out some diffs and crappy steering servos.I have absolutely NO issues with the 2 that I own.:sneaky::tire:

see i knew there was someone out there that had good advice lol.. in my 10 yrs of rc expeience i have come across 1 hellfire.. i drove it for about 10 minutes and sold it cause someone offered me a good deal. i didnt keep it so i dont know much about them. what are u running in ur hellfire? whats the most often broken parts and what is there downfall? would like to know more bout this truck

I'm pretty sure the Hellfire is discontinued by HPI. I would check on that before buying one.

They are discontinued.The most parts to replace are diff gears.:lol:I'll tell you what tho,this thing can take some wicked jumps,falls,endo's and land on it's wheels and never miss a beat.When it hits you say oh no and cover your eye's figuring it's going to be expensive but they are durable.This is only my opinion of course.

I will take it from friends' experience. Their hellfire pinions/crown are crap. They wear out very easy. The grub screws in the driveline falling out are a common problem resulting in no drive. The small pins in the cvd joints break easily. The plastic diff cups are weak too and can result in your inner diff gears moving apart resulting in no drive. They are so mad at that time. They found it very hard to keep their hellfire going. So this is based only on their experience, but if you guys don't have a problem encountered in hf... that's good..:sneaky:

We've had three people at my track who had Hellfires, and all had problems with them. Weak diffs, weak arms, and outer hingepins falling out. After they went to other truggys(X2 and 8t 2.0) none have had any issues.

yeah well i doubt im gonna get into the hellfire. im looking into getting something like the d8t or the jammin . wut yall think?

Both are great platforms, personally I would go with the D8t. The x2 is a little dated compared to the hotbodies.

i considering it lol.. finaly i feel like im on the same page as someone else lol. sucks when someone is trying to knock sence to u and ur just not letting it register lol..would u guys ever consider bashing with a d8t? could i put other tires on it like badlands? not that i really would. i most likely will be using it for street or track
