whats better for my flux? 8 stock shocks? or 4 aluminum bore shocks from hpi?

my lipos are 2-2s lipos but they are like bricks..and heavy..so i want to stop my truck from bottoming out from jumps..should just buy the 89.99 big bores aluminum shocks from hpi...or just buy 4 more set of the stock shocks to run 8 in total?

I went with UE Racer X shocks they are great running 4 all around...doubled up on oil weight and stiffer springs as UE suggested runs well!!

Also go to savage central (website) and they have great info on there. I see a lot of guys running stock shocks out of rc8t's and hellfires on their fluxes as well as just the stock big bores. You could also do the LST shock mod but personally I think they look like crap.

do you think the aluminum ones from hpi will work better for bashing? or the same as stock?

Personally I would never spend $80 bucks on aluminum big bores......... I use the AE 40wt. Like I said go to savage central and look around in their forums and ask questions the guys over there are very knowledgeable and quick to respond. I am still fairly new to the Flux line of trucks (converted my X) but had many nirto Savages in the past.

im running 4 bb shocks on my x and love them but they are the plastic ones. im running 40wt shock oil and stock pink springs for now but from everything i have read on other sites the aluminum bb's leak big time...save yourself the money going to aluminum and run the plastic ones

The BB Shocks IMO is better in terms of 'supporting' the weight of the truck, I'm using the aluminum ones, with 30WT shock oil, definitely better the stock 8 small diameter shocks... Easier to work on too...
One thing not so good is the shock springs kinda rub against the aluminum shock body... Not very smooth...

Use only 4 Alimium Big bore shocks , they are BEST :d

Not the BEST, but good enough as bolts in direct, and they are meant for the truck.
An even better choice is the Hell Fire longer rear shocks, or the HotBodies D8T rear shocks, much smoother and consistent, lower ride height too, though they are not meant for the truck...

To bump up this old thread..
my savage came with the aluminum body big bores, and as reported, one of them leaks bad. I took them apart, but the bottom part seems to be one piece, and the O-ring is inside, so I don't really know how to get in there
Thanks
