Yeah man alot of people still bash them. Most tracks don't have enough turnout for a MT class, so you don't see many revos at the track anymore.

There are quite a few around though almost no tracks race them anymore, I've got a couple and will usually take one to the track on practice days as they are still fun.

I think its cause revos are now just a mt and now the hot thing is shortcourse.

Yea that pretty much sums it up and its the way racing has always been. Anyone remember when Tamiya F1 cars were the hot new thing? Then 1/8 scale gassers? Then touring cars? Then the Tmaxx based MT class which eventually became dominated by Revos? Today its the shortcourse craze. If only I could predict what will be the hot new thing tomorrow I'd be a zillionaire...LOL

still bashing my Revo 3.3, I'll never sell it.

RCaddict0 01-27-2011 03:20 AM

Still loving mine! Thats one truck that wont leave my fleet any time soon.

NDHotbodies 01-27-2011 05:35 AM

still racing ours, added 2 more Platinums for this season.

I bought my Revo new about 2 months ago so I am new to Revo Land. But I have to say I love it. It's probably my favorite nitro RC ever! You can bash it, but it still handles well for a monster truck. And there is so much suspension travel that it soaks up everything. I don't know how anybody could dislike Revos.

I have to agree 100%

I have a E Revo BE and its hands down funest truck Ive ever owned. Love that thing.
LOL Already posted here. Shows how much I love mine

i dont know what version you got but the new 3.3TRX engine is a POS I say this because I own one and now Im just goin to do the an Electric conversion to it.

sm1nts2escape 01-29-2011 09:57 AM

If you like nitro go with the picco .26 max. That engine hauls butt.

I have the 5309. I bought it brand new literally 2 months ago.

I don't know if the 3.3 has changed, but I never had any problems with it on my Jato. Traxxas gets a bad rep for no reason IMO.

rollnhvy 01-30-2011 12:47 AM

Ive been running my revo for 2 years straight on the same 3.3. Other then standard tuning i havent had any problems with it.... :D

trxnut454 01-30-2011 07:16 AM

The 3.3 is a fine "RTR" engine if you know what to do with it. Understand that it will have air leaks, is very tight and must be around 200 degrees as much as possible during break-in, and will need new bearings sometime after that. I wouldn't let the 3.3 sway my decision on getting a revo, they can fetch as much as 140-150 bucks on ebay (nib), which is close to the price of a good replacement.
