so i just picked up a Revo and i was wondering
The OptiDrive EMS ( electronic shift module )
do u need that in your truck?
if you dont have it in will the truck just normaly shift gears like lets say a savage does?
and the Shifting Servo ( micro servo )
do u need to have that in ur car as well?

im not going to be useing the Traxxas radio or recever

I'm pretty sure the optidrive is only for reverse. I'm guessing if it was bypassed that it would just go into reverse like normal

There is a motion sensor that is bolted to the trans that connects to the OPTI drive that will not allow it to shift if it senses gear movement. If you by-pass the OPTI drive and keep the reverse gear you have to be careful of not hitting the reverse switch on the TQ while it's moving forward. If you do, you can kiss your primary gears good by.

If you remove the OPTI drive do yourself a favor, put a FOC gear in your truck and avoid all the nonsense.

i have a forward only converson
so cant i just take out the micro servo and that other little box and jsut have my recever and 3 servos??

If you have FOC already that calls for the removal of all that. Your answer is yes, take it all out. Im assuming you said 3 servos because you are still using the traxxas stockers. Do yourself another favor while your at it, get a high torque single steering servo.
