RTR vs Kit

I am looking into getting an emaxx for Christmas and want to know if it would be cheaper to buy it rtr or buy all of the parts and build one how I wanted to?
Thanks

Your question is cheaper? Then your answer is RTR. Cheaper in the long run, getting the model just right. Then your answer is to part out and get what you want.

Years ago or so. My wife, bless her heart, got me a Jammin CRT (RTR version) for fathers day. But with all the parts and hopups i wanted, it would have been cheaper to buy the kit, engine, etc etc... The only plus to going the "RTR then upgrade as you go" path, is that you get to keep your stock parts. So repairs are faster, so you can wait for the replacement parts to come in or be ordered and not be out of a running truck.

Agreed. Cheaper, RTR, Going kit is good because you will already know your truck when you run it and it will be exactly what you want if you dont want stock. BUT, with a kit you sometimes end up spending the same amout of $$ if not more for all the electronics.

Or you could drop $2500 into a super-emaxx..... UNLIMITED ENGINEERING!

The funny thing is I just got my first t maxx, and it has UE parts. For less then 200 used. But it's crazy that people paid that much for an rc model. Don't get me wrong. It seems as if UE parts are worth the cash. But again, still crazy....:weird:
