Taking Care of Truck
Hey I am wondering what is the best way to maintain your Tmaxx? I know when i finish i running i dont leave any fuel in the tank and i make sure i whipe everything down. But that is really not maintaining the motor. I am wondering what do you guys do to get longer life out of your motors?

Dont forget your after run care.
After run oil - Follow instructions for product.
T-Maxx Manual - Has after run care instructions also
WD-40 - With empty tank start motor a few more times to burn off any left fuel. Remove glow plug and air filter. Spay 1sec shot of wd-40 into glow plug opening and 1sec shot into open carb. Use rag to cover and start engine for 10sec. Repeat process 4 times.
The WD-40 process is something I have used for a long time with all my nitros and I get a lot of life out the motors.

I would use after run that burns with the fuel. I dont think wd40 does that in a good way and may result as burned plugs for instance. Other things: check your clutch and bearings, tranny internals if your truck has one and screws that theyre all secured every once in a while. Brake rotor and pads maybe too. Diff and shock oils regularly too but less often is enough.

The most important thing you have to do after that is to BDC (bottom dead center)the piston while the engine is still hot/warm. If you let it cool off with the piston in the pinch of the sleeve or at TDC you will be stretching it out and loosing compression. BDC the piston and mark the flywheel with a sharpie so you will know where it is without having to look down the plug hole all the time.

Alright, I will remeber to make sure my piston is BDC and will 3 in 1 work? Because i dont have no after run oil. Can i use 3 in1 instead of the after run oil? And i havent blown any plugs yet so i am thinking i am doing a Okay job on maintaining the engine.

ARO is really to deal with internal rust since nitro fuel attracts water and water causes rust, ARO acts to absorb water. I don't know if I'd use 3n1 or not, I'd be afraid it'd leave a residue when its burned next time the engine is cranked. WD40 would prob be better than 3n1 in a pinch.
I stopped using those 2oz bottles of ARO from the lhs and use Marvel Mystery Oil insatead. You can buy a qt of MMO for the same price or less as the 2oz of ARO from the lhs at Walmart. ATF is supposed to be just as good since both of these are water absorbing. I know some that mix MMO and ATF 50:50, but thats a lot of trouble and I just use straight MMO.
