Default 1/8 cvd's in a Maxx

I'm looking at upgrading to 8MM axles on the maxx using tekno carriers however their set up uses the stock driveshafts with 8mm axles.
Does any one know if a 1/8 cvd around 154 mm (cross pin to end of axle)
I'm running 6s and twisting the stock driveshafts like pretzels

Strongest cvds out there are UE 8mm CVDs, but they're not made anymore and I don't know if they'd work with the way you're setup. UE also made 6mm cvds that held up under 95% of the applications.

They show up on eBay now an again.

You will need a measurement from the cross pin to the flat part of the CVD that goes against the inner bearing of the carrier. Jammin truggy one is 136mm and then you have to get the axle length close and that would be the part that passes through the bearings. That is the part that will stump you. Most 1/8th scale ones are longer than you will need unless you run a big stack of shims and that causes problems.

Thanks for the input Ive been looking at rc4wd's punisher shafts as well they are seriously heavy but should fit the tekno axle with a bit of modding (they are made for a 5 mm outdrive)

I am running 23 mm hexes with 7.5 inch cen wheels on an e baja style scratch build - hence the need for some BEEFY axles

Unfortunately the UE's are based around the keyed 14 mm hex and wont work for me - shame as I'm running one of their diffs and its sweet.

I'm not sure how the Maxx is made but it does use the same axle carriers as the Revo right? Because I installed Losi LST XXL CVD shafts on my brushless E-Revo and they work awesome. The shafts were the right lentgh for the Revo but you would have to check if they are ok for the Maxx. Here's a thread on the TRX forum that shows how I did it.

You can get lucky and get LST XXL shafts pretty cheap from chop shops on ebay. Many auctions for them. There are still a few that have the ''buy it now'' option and you can find a full set for under $40 shipping included.

tried the mod with some rpm true track hubs and used an15x8x5 bearing (v hard to find but out there)so no modding of the carrier needed my CVD cups are a little short - the pin is only about 1mm into the cup at max travel so I may throw some losi 8T outdrives on - I'm running LST diff in the FLM hybrid bulk
pics soon

It works ! prior to ordering the 8T outdrives (cups) I had a dig around and found some konger cups lurking in my bits box Ive got some CEN hexes to throw on I've just got to drill and tap the axles I'll post when Ive got the tap and finished the mod.
Has anyone got a link to a 15x8x5 rubber sealed bearing - the ones I've got are sheilded

thanks for the link ordered the bearings I'm also going to need a spacer to sit behind the 15 x 21mm bearing as the tapered section of the axle is slightly too long and pushes the outer bearing out about 1 mm - I may just use a hard rubber o ring

Hmmm... So the axle pushes on the outer bearing? I'll have to check mine to see if I missed that. Working in a freezing cold garage, I tend to do things fast before my fingers freeze. I'm afraid that if you keep the axles from sitting tightly against the inner race of the 15X21 inner bearing, you'll have some binding issues as the shafts will sit deeper in the diff output cups.
