xtm x-factor help

I just picked up a xtm x-factor and i'm having some issues with it. First of all, it has a 3rd servo for reverse/forward and the radio is a 2 channel radio, it has a R box on top of the reciever for a 3rd channel hook up, so how does this work? Next, it slips into neutral when i'm driving it, and it will not shift to 2nd gear, i tried adjusting the linkage on the 3rd servo to see if it would change and it did nothing. I can't find a manual for this truck anywhere online so any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

The r box runs off the brake test it not running hold brake for a couple seconds then servo 3 should move . There is a small star gear for reverse that goes bad .I will look for a manual for you

I reset the R box and the servo works now, soo the only problem i have left is when it gets in too high rpm it slips into neutral? It's supposed to be a 2 speed tranny from what i have been reading, so i wonder if i have an internal problem inside the tranny? If it's a 2 speed, it's not shifting, and once it slips, i can let it sit, idle down and it kicks back into gear.

You might need to adj the servo throw a little - sounds like servo is not quite getting shift lever to fully engaged position. When it does this, try moving the shift lever by hand and see if that completes the shift. If it does, then you need to 'english' the servo horn enough to get it to completely engage.

I will give it try, the trick is getting close enough to the truck and catching it before it kicks back in gear, it seems to only slip when i'm about half throttle, which is when it should be shifting into 2nd gear i would think. I will get back to you once i try it out, after the rain stops.

I think you need a new clutch on the second gear. Find a parts diagram for your truck and dissassemble the entire gearbox and look for anything that doesn't look right. The symptoms you are posting sound like it has nothing to do with the reverse function at all.

On second thought, there should be some sort of grub screw or bolt that holds the pawl clutch onto the shaft. Maybe that has been damaged somehow? Anyway, thats where I would look first, and make sure none of the gears are worn down.
