Steering Servo for Revo
What are some good torque and speed specs for a single steering servo in a Revo? The stock Traxxas servo seems pretty sluggish in a MT.

If you can run 2 servos for steering, i would. Imo its alot cheaper to run 2 of the 2075's which are really cheap and easy to obtain. Sure it adds a couple oz's of weight but imo its the way to go. The servos are about $20 shipped on ebay and 2 of them are alot cheaper than any single good 250oz torque servo which will cost north of $100. Imo 250oz worth of steering was always plenty of power. Not to mention they are waterproof so you don't need to remove them when cleaning your ride. But if you can't run dual servos then the Ace/xp/ae ds1015 is a good choice, its rated at just over 200oz of torque but have been tested to have quite abit more power. They can be bought for around $80 at a few online stores.

Do it right the first time and just buy a hitec 7955tg, theyre like $110 new, or $70 used.
You will never have a problem with steering with that servo. |
have the single 7955TG love it get the traxxas heavy duty servo saver spring and the pro-ling single servo arm and youll be set. Really an expensive servo like $100 to $120 but really really nice.

The Hobbico CS-170 is exactly the same as the Hitec 7955TG and can generally be found for slightly cheaper.
If you aren't adverse to ordering overseas and trying something different you could look at the Turnigy HV767. I have one in my truggy and it is ridiculously fast and strong. The full alloy case makes it very tough also. http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=9983 |
