A stock CB will not work with a steel spur gear. The Spur Gear will eat it up within a tank of gas. You need to get a hardened CB to be able to use a steel spurgear.

I guess if you can't set the mesh using stock CB and plastic spur, you can always try a hardened stell CB with a steel spur.

Get a vented CB, they run cooler, more consistent grip.

If you not having probs with the stock CB/spur, seems like its a waste to change to a hardened CB just to run a steel spur. My 2 Tmaxxes never had probs with the stock CB/spur. Plenty of other stuff to spend the money on.

I had to charge to steel spur on my Emaxx since I kept melting spur gears, otherwise I wouldn't have charged that either.

the reason you were melting spur gears on your e-maxx was most likely because of either too tight of a mesh or more likely, your slipper was too loose and got really hot.
