I don't know about that one. A lot of people like them, but I'm not impressed at all by it. The standard size Savage is able to pull wheelies easier. Also, tire and body selection seems to be lacking. I don't know about you, but being able to customize the appearance of the rig is big in my book. I like to be able to tell mine apart from the crowd other than just paint alone.

But if you want to, go for it. I'm sure that the XL will be more than capable of bashing and a whole lot of fun.

From what i hear, everything except the 5.9 big block work very well. What if i put the associated 8cc engine in the savage xl?

the xl is much better for handling the track. drifting instead of flipping out
where some guys want to do wheelies all the time , others want to go fast !

i modified my brushless savage to xl frame and axles to be able to hold the track better and run down those truggies! no sweat!
just look at losi eight -t , then eight - t 2.0 ... longer , wider = better

the 5.9 is a k motor like the 4.6k in the x ss , if you ever had one .. it's the same deal to tune ( three screws , high- low- mid ) but runs stronger
guys that put them in a normal savage say it's wheelies all the time!

Ya the xl just seems like a much stronger truck for bashing, which is what im looking for. And from what it seems, all of the people who didnt like the 5.9 just couldn't tune it right with the three needle set up, so it would run hot

yeah three screws ... the book says basically nothing about it for tuning

but the trick is to reajust the low needle if you turn the mid .
i've found buy fluke that too rich on the low or mid will make it run very hot
then after leaning the low you see the high is way too lean

We have a guy here at our track with a Revo killer. His XL 5.9 is fast as hell and responsive on the jumps(brake to pitch down,throttle to pitch back). Last week I got first in one of the races due to the Savage being a beast and everyone else broke. We both run Bow Tie with 1/2" offset. I heard someone say something about a Mamba Max..... The Flux IS a Castle Creations Mamba Max. It's just in a different can. As far as LiPo goes... I trust them about as much as politicians.
