a 2.4 radio system if you dont already have one. Possibly an roll cage. since its stock in upgrade the gas tank to the proline tank.

I whole heartedly second the rollcage. At least a roll bar. I snapped the motor mount after landing on the roof. I went ahead and upgraded to the traxxas aluminum one. I'm afraid to jump mine anymore until i get a rollcage.

For some reason on the 3.3 I've broken 2 steering servos. This is my 5th Maxx truck too. The stock 2070 stripped out gears. So i put in a Hitec HS645-MG, only took about 5-10mins to explode the gears in that one too. I can only guess the servo saver built into the bellcrank is way too tight, and no way to adjust it. So if not a new really good steering servo, a good servo saver is needed.

When you upgrade the strg servo, you need to upgrade the servo saver as well. The servo saver for a MG servo is also diff than one for a plastic geared servo. I use this Kimbrough saver on my Tmaxxes that run Hitec 5645MG servos for strg -
