ERBE Help
So I decided against the Savage Flux and went with the ERBE. I just like the looks better. I' new to brushless and any tips you great people could give me as to initial setup would be great. Does anyone have a reference to read about all the parts and how changing one out for another would help? For example, going from gear to another, different sway bars, etc. I'm not a car guru by any means. Also, connecting the castle link to the Mamba - I'm supposed to use the transmitter port on the receiver?! The instructions aren't too clear. Any help there? I'd like to adjust the LVC to 3.5, but it seems like I can only go 3.0, 5, or 6 according to the instructions.
Any advice there? Thanks in advance. Mark |
There are a bunch of how-to article on the Traxxas website. A search for what your looking for should return results. The Castle Link plugs into the wire used to connect the ECS to your receiver. Simply unplug the wire from your receiver and plug the 3 prongs into the connector.

If you use the castle link, set it to auto lipo and then you can adjust the LVC to 3v - 3.7v per cell. 3.5 is kinda high. I run all mine at 3.3v. This is still higher than the recommended setting for most lipos.
The best upgrades IMO are the Variable Dampening Piston kit and the RPM true trac kit for the rear. Also for good batteries with long runtime go with SPC 2s 8000mah. They are the best bang for the buck. |
The lead from the esc plugs into the Castle link, unplug it from the rcvr and plug it into the Link. Get the PC setup and running the software then make the connection. You'll see the two boxes on the front that were red, turn green as the link sees power from the USB and then the esc.
You may need to upgrade the Link software version to have the later options which include the variable LVC under auto lipo. Depends on where you dnloaded the Link software from - the included mini-CD was outdated with mine. Dnloading from Castle's site will give you the latest version of teh Link software. I use it, mine is set at 3.4v/c so I know its there. |
