Bashing Question
Aloha everyone....just picked up my first nitro vehicle, the Monster GT and I love it!!!!! Just was wondering if it is safe to Bash in sand? Mahalo for any help?
|
Bashing!
Bashing is good! I have run almost all my vehicles at the beach at one time or another.
Just make sure to do a good cleaning after you are done for the day, most of all Have Fun:nod: :) |
Yeah he said it. But one place you REALLY wanna watch out for is around the glow plug clean around it out BEFORE you take it out. Also make sure your running with the airfilter on and make sure its tight. Get some sand grit, dirt etc in your motor and bye bye goes your motor which is exatcly what happened to me when i didnt put the endpiece on my motor saver air filer on properly.

Someone told me that if you flip the tire direction around so the V of the treads is in reverse it will cause the sand to pack underneath the wheels and your vehicle will actually ride on top the sand.
Is this true? This is what they were doing in the snow and it worked, they said it should work also for sand. |
in therory that is a great idea. . . I don't have any v grove tires so I wouldn't know. Try it though, its worth a shot!!

Cain, Give it a try & let us know if it works:)
I live about 30 miles from the Beach, Besides I have to work.:( |
I had tried it on snow since where I live in Connecticut no close beach either and it worked well, I wasn't running a nitro vehicle however, I had a T4 monstered out with Imex J-Dawg tires. When I flipped them around the vehicle did ride on the snow. When I ran them the right way, I did sink.
I don't run offroad any more :( , had a chance to get a HB RTR 1/8 scale buggy for 200 but I know if I got that, I would be sleeping outside. |
well, i just got back from the beach. i dont have nitro but i do have a emaxx. my maxx worked awesome in the sand. id say you will be safe with nitro if its safe for eletric.
