One of the most well known things about HPI is their "Savage" line up of vehicles. The savage has been around for many years, and has always been considered one of the toughest trucks on the block. With the Savage 21 RTR, Savage SS, Savage 25 RTR, Savage 25 SS, Savage X RTR, and Savage X SS, HPI has just recently released another Savage, the Savage X 4.6 RTR. The X 4.6 has all the same great qualites of the new Savage X RTR, but with even more. A much more powerful F4.6 .28 engine produced by HPI powers the rig, and to slow the big truck down, HPI added their dual red fibre brake system. Not only a much needed upgrade, but looks great too. This, and several other things were added to make the Savage even tougher than the rest.

I have an MGT 8.0, Savage X 4.6, Losi Muggy, and a 3.3 Revo (just got it). If I had bought the Savage before the MGT I probably wouldn't have bought the MGT. I love my Savage, it is a beast, I have done stuff with it that I wouldn't dare do with any of the others and still have never broke anything other than a bumper mount and burnt up the one way with the roto start. All I do is bash, the MGT is faster and torquier but that Savage is more dependable and tougher. Totally recommend the Savage X.

The MGT 4.6 is great for bashing and really cheap ($350 @ ultimatehobbies) but if you're gonna do some hardcore jumping, I'd pick a Revo if you can afford it ($530) or the Savage ($415). I think the Savage is a GREAT value for a jumper, but I prefer the Revo personally.

Get the Savage 4.6 that is by far the best model HPI has made of the savage line. I own 6 savages and that is my favorite one.
