E Maxx!!!!

traxxas.com said that a stock emaxx with 14 cells will work but if u use mod motors it will damage the stock electronics is that true?

GReddy 03-22-2004 04:56 PM

ttt

ajg 03-22-2004 05:06 PM

I've seen people who have used mod motors with the evx esc. But traxxas says it isn't good. If you use the right gearing you could probably use one though.

GReddy 03-23-2004 08:01 PM

but u see them run safely wit 14 cells?

sprtmaxxxmitch 03-25-2004 09:26 AM

i got an e-maxxx and used 14cells with mod motors burnt elect in about a week.

GReddy 03-25-2004 10:25 PM

dam dat sux

about da new HV maxx brushless how can u fit 2 of em in and make it look nice? when does it come out?

sprtmaxxxmitch 03-26-2004 05:45 PM

traxxis sells a twin motor plate for installing two motors but iam not sure if they will fit the hvs.... didn't your e-maxx come with twin motors?, mine came with the twin titan 550s

GReddy 03-26-2004 11:14 PM

i dont have a emaxx yet abd i mean the Novak HV-MAXX Brushless Motor System since the esc is as big as the stock one how can u get two in there and still look nice

hey did any of you try this battery Y harness by duratrax to connect 4 batteries to a stock EMAXX??????

does it run safely without burning any electronics?

If the E-maxx has the Novak EVX it can handle (2) 7 cell packs. You can also use mod motors with that ESC up to 19t. There is a write up on traxxas.com for modding up 7 cell packs
http://www.traxxas.com/support/howto/trx_trouble_build7cell.htm

GReddy 04-19-2004 08:12 PM

i meant the Y harness it says it can double the run time and does not increase voltage is it true?

j240z 04-19-2004 08:17 PM

Sorry, I'm not sure about the Y harness. by this I think you're talking about running 4 packs...? I'm not sure but it doesn't sound like a good idea....?

The Y harness runs the packs in paralel, you will double the current (Amps) and not the voltage, as the voltage stays the same, but you will need to make sure that the ESC will be able to handle it as the current will increase, if you have 2 7.2V 3300mAh packs, that will then make it like one 7.2V 6600mAh pack.

Anyway, I am running a starterbox that requires 2x motors, I am looking for 2x modified motors, but I dont need speed, I need torque. please put me in the ballpark as to what I should look for, I am a nitro guy, and not electric.

but the thing is that have u ever seen anyone use it b4 on a stock emaxx?

That, I must admit I have not, however, Traxxas claim that it can be done on the stock truck and that it keeps up with the t-maxx. hop on to their site.

AdmiralDog 04-22-2004 09:11 AM
