If it will fit and free , it will work. Most use a 5 cell hump, 1400/1600 mah. Much more run time.

That will work, but not sure the connections will be compatible. Also 900mah isn't much as far as a rx pac goes and it won't last that much longer than your alkalines. But its a way to stop using alkanines for a while an will give you an idea of how long 900mah will last in your LST.
Wow, thats a lot of batts, 4 every tank! |

No 4 rechargeables are no good. Add a 5th and you're looking at a good homemade rx pac. Its pretty easy to do, take some short pieces of 18ga wire and solder the cells together with teh wire, pos to neg. Add the wires you'll need to take off the alkaline holder you've been using and it will make a good rx pack.
Some companies like Balistic Batteries offer a rx pac made from 2700mah AAs. You can always zip tie the pac to something if you don't have the room in the rx box. |

You're welcome!!
You can make a flat pac, you can make a 2 on 3 style hump pac and there's also a two - one - two type stacked pac (looks like 5 on one dice - hope that makes sense..). Play around and look at what saves you the most space. Then build it. These are so easy and its almost never thought of. I've even made them for our cordless phones that use a 3 AA cell pac instead of buying the expensive NiCd replacement pacs. If you want to get fancy, you can buy some shoink and make them look like store bought! |
if you want some extra run time get a hump and a flat reciever packs. you can put the hump pack under the gas tank and the flat pack on the underside of the chassis. make sure they are the same milliamps and run them paralelle.
For me i just went with the bigger gas tank. and a 1600mah flat reciever pack. thats enough to go for a while tell i get bored. i have jr z590m throttle/brake servo jr z270 forward/reverse servo and 2 jr sport st126mg for steering. also remember the more powerfull the servo= the more juice it will use |
