Default LST Questions

I just picked up a lst and i have a question mostly about the third channel servo. What is the purpose of this extra servo? I know the linkage is hooked to the transmission, atleast thats what i think it is. Can this be bypassed? I don't have a 3 channel radio so i was wondering if i can use a 2 channel radio and not use the extra servo? This is my 1st monster truck and i got it just for bashing around the yard.

The extra servo is to change it into reverse. You can do a F.O.C or do what I did unplug the servo from the receiver because I too was using a 2 channel radio at the time.

that is the high gear / low gear selector but pretty much you just want to keep it in high gear

also what i did was use a spring on the reverse/forward arm that way you dont have to worry about coming out of forward. you can use spring from a pen it works great

I do believe the FOC eliminates the HI/LO too. That is like hi and lo range in a 4wd full size truck. So unless you like to max of about 10 mph, you wont miss that anyways

I have seen people keep the hi/low function when they do the FOC. I don't know how they did it, I just did a FOC with the gear swap so I will see how much speed difference there is with the gear swap.

I just did the F O C on my lst2 and I swapped the gears. Its really easy. Just look at the pic(instuctions) when you get the F O C. The pic suppose to be instuctions. It just show where everything suppose to go.

I also swapped everything over from the lst2 chassis to the XXL chassis. The truck handles alot better. I race mines thats why I did that conversion. I just drilled extra holes in the LST2 body so it could fit.

I think its about an inch longer, so you'd need the center drive shafts from an xxl also.
