return spring help savage

hello just got my savage 25 rtr last friday..and i cant get WOT because of the return spring..so i done the return spring mod on hpi's website that was suppose to cure the problem..but the servo still will not pull it WOT unless the spring is taken completely off..any idea how to fix this?

i'm guessing it's a slide carb right? if so, take the spring off and use rubber bands around the carb, they should allow the slide to open WOT, yet be strong enough to close the carb. I think medium sized rubber bands should work

how good does that work i havent thought of that?oh and yes its a slide carb

Rubber band works fine, but tension can't be too much. Changing the sloppy linkage improves this problem. Try this link:
