for about $150 you can get a high quality O.S .18tz. Straight bolt in and go.

Two years ago when my TRX 3.3 took a shit, I replaced it with a O.S .18TM. It was a good motor all around, but it kept leaking in the carb boot, and I could never get it to stop. Eventually I parted out the Revo

why not go with another 3.3 ? What about the 3.3 make you not want to get another?

it is very rare to have problems like this with an O.S engine. Usually they are top notch.

in my opinion i would go with the .18tz. if you want alot of power even though the tz has it go with a picco .26 if you go with a picco you can strip gears but not often. i have a .32 on my t-maxx and the only time i have to replace a gear is if im lean on the bottom end on purpose to do wheelies.

either motor is good but i would probly go with tz to race/bash and the picco to race:tire:

i would say picco for bashing because it is way to much power for racing (depending on track). The 18tz i a great balance between the two.

:nod:true, what i meant was for racing on a large, wide, damp track so you can go fast take wide turns and hook:nod:

yup picco is the way to go for a big track.

you can go with an O.S. 21 TM its a direct fit also picco makes a direct drop in for the revo you can use your easy start with both

the 3.3 is a good engine but im bashing not racing, i want more speed so i can hit a ramp and punch the throttle and get double back flips and such, plus the 3.3 doesn;t have that great of a low end, just a good high end, i see nothing wrong with the 3.3 i love mine cuz i hardly ever have to make big adjustments, maybe only a small tweek every time i pull it out but it does always start and stay running

Brad.R 04-27-2009 08:59 PM

i have never owned a 3.3 i have but i take them off without running them sell them on ebay make 120$ and buy somthing bigger like a picco. in my t-maxxes case i put a big block chassis on it and put a surefire .32 on it.

revo engines choices

most of the guys i race against with revos are using os 21 tm or os 18tz engines in them.

when i ran a nitro revo i went with the rb concept tm-523 and i loved the power of that engine.

the 3.3 is ok for bashing but for racing its pretty much junk.

Brad.R 04-28-2009 02:21 PM

i 100% agree:nod:

MANIAC1228 04-29-2009 11:58 AM

the 18tz is a great motor but is not a dirrect drop in. it uses the same mount but other mods are needed to make it work in a revo.
