Savage 5.9 servo problems

I was breakin in the new Savy when all of a sudden I couldn't turn. The servo was dead and so was the rec. When I turn the wheel nothing, throttle nothing. Bought a new servo and stole a rec from another truck and in less than 1/2 tank same problem but this time rec is ok. When I turn the wheel nothing happens when I flip the on/off switch the servo jumps.

Not to mention out of the box the battery will only stay charged for about 5 min and during the break in process the mid range needle FELL OUT:flaming:. I found it but now it justs rotates freely.
Any suggestions
I need a lil help with this one.

Havent looked at it this time. But it appeared to be after the first failure.

NOT Lovin HPI right now.

Is this a known problem?

im not sure if it is common but i know it is to strip the servo saver.

The servo dosn't do anything unless I plug the Hump pack directly into the rec the the servo twitches a lil then back to dead.

This thing Is BRAND NEW and I'm Having probs already. LHS won't do anything because" it's electronics" I said "IT'S BRAND NEW" Will not support them again!!!

savage xl servo problems

when i had my savage xl i found that the hump pack that came with the truck was pretty weak, considering the size of the truck and the fact that the steering servo is a metal gear , higher torque servo. i found after a short run time the hump pack just didnt have the juice to keep the servos working properly.

i began to use a losi 2s 2000 lipo with a losi voltage reducer instead of the nimh humpack and i never had another problem with my servos. i could get an hour runtime out of the losi lipo before having to recharge it.

as far as the 5.9 motor i never had ann issues of the needles falling out. i dont think thats common for the 5.9 motor. maybe the axial 4.6 yes but not the 5.9 hpi

Anything electronic on any RTR is about sub par. Mid range needle coming out can be from no o-ring or too small of a o-ring or something else. Call HPI they will help you with any issues. Not all LHS will help you on warranty issue they will tell you to call the manfacture.

HPI website shows the mid screw is flush either see if there is a o-ring it there is . Or put sticky foam tape on it so it can't turn. I seen poeple use tire glue after sitting it on the outside.

I agree the batt is garbage. Might as well not even come with one if it's only good for 5 min per cycle.
I contacted HPI about the needle and they said set it in place and put loctite over the needle:weird:. Thing was him had that answer RIGHT AWAY. Kinda bothered me. Thats what I did and welll see how well it works. Going to contact them tom about the other issues. Hopefully they make things right.
I've heard there not really known for great customer service tho.

We'll see

I was going to say loctite but I didn't know where the threads and fuel ports were. I would have hated to tell you to put loctite on and plug the fuel port because the threads was ahead of the ports.
