I want a budget truck that i can take out an do some wet weather bashing with (not hard bashing). I was thinking of getting a wheely king because of its price and starting from there. This is what i cam up with. Please feel free to comment.

i reccomend making it as fast as physically possible. think about it. slowly through mud vs ripping through mud.

i really like this idea. keep us posted.

sorry i couldnt be much help but im used to like 16/52 combos not the weird combos electric has.

id start with stock. judging by videos its pretty skippy stock. i mean you dont want to go too fast. you wanna go through the mud not over it lol.

Most Traxxas' come with waterproof stuff. Servo's, ESC, etc. I know my Slash is.

This is the new Summit. You can run it quick, or hit a button to lock the diffs and gear down and you can crawl/climb.

Might be a good start.

i agree, although i still think the solid axle, ladder frame, 4-link styling of the wheely king is better suited for all out fun mudding. and also, its ALOT cheaper.

but +1 to the waterproof stuff from traxxas. however i heard the motors arent 100% waterproof. i wouldnt know though so......

A good way to break in an electric motor is under water believe it or not.

The brushed motors are only $20-$30, or you can rebuild them for cheaper. Brushless need no maintenance.

It's not, I would just go for brushed, much better for what you are planning.

Water doesn't hurt any electric motor. Just make sure the water is blown out with some good motor spray and dried well because rust can cause obvious problems. And the break-in like that should be done with distilled water because others can leave residue on the parts. So you can imagine muddy water.

Oil the bearings every few runs and you'll be fine.

The kiddo was running the Slash today in the rain. (And we got a lot here.)

To be clearer, nothing in RC is 100% "waterproof"

We got about 6 inches of rain in Houston today. And about that much yesterday.
