LST Engine Choice

19-26
I got one of those by accident when I meant to get the stock one for the LST. The 19-26, I'm told, means switching to metal spur gears since they're the only ones offered that fit with this pinion gear. The LST and LST2 with the threaded bells offer 18-25(stock), 18-24, and 18-22, all from Losi. I don't know if anyone makes a spur gear to go with a 16t pinion, if a 16t is available. Have you seen a 16 tooth thread on type? I just saw the 16t on the RC Monster link, answered my own question.

I think for the money a lrp spec 3 is the best buy. I did experience a bad front bearing at less than a gallon but I just replaced it with a $15 TKO ceramic bearing and everything's good to go. The engine makes a ton of power and revs a lot higher than I expected it to.
Here's what my spec 3 runs like in a stock geared lst/raminator:

I just replaced my stock one piece clutch bell with one of the threaded lst bells along with a rc monster threaded pinion and the stock plastic spur. I really like this setup with the dude's one speed hub.
Using the threaded bell really opens the door to several more gearing options. Along with using a different spur makes for a ton of gearing variations.

i vote for the losi/dynamite mach 427... its identical to the lrp spec 3 .28... the crank is identical.... but the 427 is a MUCH better powerplant in my opinion... lrp's are too hard to find parts for these days...

lst engine
dynamite .28 platinum is the same mach 427 but has more bottem end both excelent engines but if your looking for even more power get the force .32 or engine that comes out of the tnx 5.2 think they are the same cheap and more than enough power also put the foward only coversion makes everything spin up quicker
