I ran my 4.6SS with an Axial and was happy with the way it tuned and ran. I sold that and bough the 32Axial and its a low end mill. Plenty on the bottom and a decent top, but its not a winder.

I've heard STS is a good choice as well.

I have a LRP Z28R, runs well, moves mt MGT 4.6 w/ a rollcage very well, have yet to really stretch it's legs because the ground is covered in snow and the roads are covered in salt and sand.

The picco (P3) .28 is still, hands down, the best under $200 choice for the savage.

Default re motor choices for your savage 25

i agree the picco p3 28 is a great motor . excellent power.

the os.30vg is another lower priced motor with plenty of power.

if you are willing to spend a few bucks then check out the rb concepts tm 928 engine. its a beast.

i also have a savage 25 and i replaced my engine with an sts.28 and a buddy of mine has the sts.30 in his savage x. i have yet to run my .28 but i've seen played around with my buddies and it hauls ass.

if you have stock drivetrain, dogbones etc and you get a bigger engine and say you did a donut and the truck rolls back, let it stop then get on the gas, because if you get on the gas while the truck is rolling back it will break something. the stock drivetrain will hold up just dont give er' hell everytime. good luck with your decision... oh and i say STS. not sure where you live but i bought my STS .28 on ebay from Hong Kong for around $130-$140 shipped to BC Canada.
