Default will a 2.5 crank fit a 3.3

I'm getting a 3.3 that has the ips crank for bumpstart and I want to know if a 2.5 crank will fit so I can use a pullstart

pretty sure. they're the same engine except from the piston, sleeve, the hole for the sleeve in the case and the bottom of the head.

Not to contradict, but I think the stroke on the 3.3 crank is almost 2mm longer. The PS cranks go for about 10 bucks on ebay. Of course you'll need more than just the crank to make it all work.

I dunno. My thinking could be twisted. It may be the bore that's 2mm larger. The bore is definitely larger. Take what I said earlier with a grain o salt. In the mean time I'll see if I can find an old 3.3 around here and take a measurement off it.

They are not the same part numbers 2.5 - p/n 5219, 3.3 - p/n 5288 which leads me to believe they are not the same. I'd expect the crank ports to be diff also - 3.3 needs to breathe a little more than the 2.5.

The crank will work, but you'll lose power because the 2.5 has a smaller port.
