E-Savage or E-Maxx
I am looking to get a electric to play with in the snow and have been looking at bout the maxx and the savage and was wondering which would be more fun. I am not looking to go brushless this will be for bashing only since I have an buggy for racing I just want a MT to have fun with while there is snow on the ground and the nitro car is away

The new 16.8 E-Maxx hands down - servos, rx and esc are advertised as water proof, but are prob really only water resistant. As long as you blow the snow off while you're still outside, prob never have any water related issues.
Tons of after market support readily available on the Emaxx too. |
how about the ESavage on some sorta drug i wished i had about now!
|
My dad washes his emaxx with a hose so it is water proof
|
I've had 2 * E-Savages in my time, if I was going to buy one now, it'd be an E-Maxx absolutely NO QUESTION.
Easier to work on, easier to get parts, better slipper system (essential) and waterproof. |
Another point - if you ever consider going brushless, the E-Maxx drive line is already brushless capable with the big center drives and wheel axles and upgraded diffs. All that needs to be done is to remove stock equip, replace with brushless, add lipos and go.

Neither.
E-Revo and hold off until January 19th and get the brushless version with the new TQ 2.4 system! |
I would wait for the Brushless E-Revo.
Although the E-Maxx is a nice truck. |

I was wrong Jan 16th!!!! |
Cool - hope thats a firm date!!?? And we're not going to see it change again. I wanted one for my B'day early Nov, but obviously that didn't happen.
Thanks |
I guess Traxxas is in a rush to sell their Brushless E when they found out HPI is cooking something similar :D. If I haven't bought the original E-Revo, I'll be all over on this one.
But knowing Traxxas with their previous release dates, this one is gonna be push back a few times. I remember when I was waiting for the new E-maxx, and also the new E-Revo before. |
I've seen this release reset at least 3 times, so maybe the Jan date will be the real deal? I was just about to get an E-Revo for B'day early in Nov when the BL E-Revo was announced. Now this one....still no B'day present.
If both of these BLs are missing Xmas, you can count on there being somekind of real prob somewhere thats costing a lot of sales. |
