Here is a link of RC Monster shop. the G maxx single speed conversion you are mentioning is in this page. Also, you can find all the parts you need to beef up your stock tranny.

I hope this is the one you are looking for.

Found the Idler gear , $15. is nice . Also found these lighter ones http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...ore/13407.html

as far as the g maxx goes I'm not seeing why I should spend $73. bucks for a aluminum plate
Is there something more to it than what is written ?

Here it is directly from GM - its not any cheaper -

http://www.gorillamaxx.com/

Be careful about the UE stuff - they've been spotty with keeping webstore up to date - I'd call to be sure they had the idlers.

Part of the deal is for the strength. You will not be able to make stock trans as strong any other way. A side benefit is weight reduction - both rotating mass and bulk weight. The strength is the main deal though - a hot bl setup will shred the stocker. The 8XL I started with was enough to kill my orig trans molre than once. I got tired of fixing it and the GM conversion fixed that once and for all.

Can you provide some more info about that? What xray parts and how's it used, how's it fitted to the chassis, ratios?? That looks interesting, kinda like the slipperential that RCM was selling at one time.

Thanks

I read about it in RC-monster

I first saw it here http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...t=9731&page=13

I dont have the cash for it now so I did not read /remember the ratio's , they are all over ebay too I think it was XRay xb808 or something , yep here ya I go I save a few pics
They offer conversion kits for the emaxx, revo and so on
When you go to rc monster there is a store listed on the left

have fun

Wow, what a read - yeah, I'm on RCM forums too, but don't spend too much time there these days. I still like nitro and thats not popular there to say the least.

I knew when I saw xrays name on it that was going to be expensive, and I'm not disappointed either, thats more than 2 GM converted trannies. Mine are on flm chassis so it'd be a lot of custom work. Nice to know there is a alternative if I start breaking them which so far has not been a prob.
