e-revo help
Im fixing to pick up a e-revo roller, and wanted to know if my stuff would work with it. I have a mamba max 4600kv motor with the mamba max esc. With 2 2cell 3000mah team orion lipos. I would like to try and use that motor but if not i can buy a feigao. WITH the mm motor, which pinion spur gear should i use? With ther feigao motor, which version of it should i use? 9xl, and what spur/pinion should i use. Or what fdr should i have. I dont have exact weights or anything, im looking to buy a e-revo roller. Any and all help is greatly appreciates.

Do not use the Mamba 4600 motor. It will run too hot. You can calculate your speed using this calculator: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html
This calculator will help you determine which motor and what gearing to use. The feigao motors are ok but I would get a medusa. Some people have run a single Velineon 3500 but I would not go that route either. The Mamba Max can handle a 4S lipo with no problem or a 5S with a fan or slight modifications. 4S in an E-Revo would be optimal since you can run two (of the same MaH) 2S lipos in series. You could do one 2S and one 3S as long as the Mah is the same but there may be issues with that setup. |
A MM 4600 won't run a vehicle that weights as much as an E-Revo, it would get really hot real quick - those motors are made for 10th scale onroads and the lighter offroad rcs. Heaviest I've seen a 4600 be happy in is a CRT.5 and that weighs less than a E-Revo.
A feigao 8 or 9XL would be a better choice for a starter. I ran an 8XL in a FLM extended Emaxx and was always fighting temp probs - feigaos are cheap and they tend to run hot no matter what the gearing. Better choice is a medusa and even better is a neu. I'm running a Techno Neu 1515 1yF now and don't have heat issues. Need a fdr somewhere around 14.4 if weight is about 10lbs. Mine weighed a little more than 12lbs rtr and I used 16/51. |
