Couple of E-Revo Questions

1. I was wondering what are 2 good batteries to use for my e-revo. Right now i am running 2 2400mah batteries but was wondering if i should go higher? I have a Piranha CX-10 AC/DC charger that you crank to charge the batteries; 2. so i was wondering how many fulll 15 min cranks do i need to have my batteries good and charged? 3. Also was wondering if the new traxxas velineon brushless system would go good for the e-revo or not. One last question, 4. whats a good way to clean off the rocks, dust after running it around, i dont have an air compresor so i didnt know if there was another way or not?

Pm or post on here if you have an answer for me. Thanks!

I'll take any advice on what to use on the e-revo. Thanks to any and everyone who can help me out!!!

meh helped a little bit. Still would like to know if that velineon brushless system is a good thing to put in my erevo or not. If not then which one is good to put in my erevo? And what batteries are good to use for my erevo. 7.2V 5000mah? 6c 5000mah? 6c 3200mah?

Right out of the FAQ - "Simplest option is a single VXL system, which will give the same speed roughly as the stock setup, though with more torque. Truthfully though, it is far from adequate if you are looking for higher speeds and more wheelie popping power."

How much are you looking to spend - get a Castle Mamba Monster esc, Neu1515 1YF motor and a pair of 3S 5000mah 25c Neuenergy lipos - that setup will cost about $700. Do you have a charger that will balance charge top flight batts like these, you'll need one, preferably one like the Hyperion 0610Duo so you can balance charge two batts at once, thats another $260.

Batt question is premature until you decide ifyou're going to change motor. For the stock titans? Higher capacity will give you longer run times and a little more performance. Here's another quote from the FAQ -"7cell side by side packs are best to achieve a good fit in the battery compartments, and for maximum speed."

I run 4400 and 4000mah NiMH 7 cell pacs in my older 3906, but don't run titans any longer. I get about 20min and spend a lot of time riding the wheelie bar. Lipo needs a low voltage cutoff - the evx-2 in Erevo does not have one so to safely run lipo, you need a separate lvc.

well thanks, i remember reading that but i dont think im quite ready to spend $700+. I just want a system that will give me good run times and let me hit speeds around 45+. If you have any suggestions on what esc and motor would be good for that id appreciate your help or anyones. Thanks for your help so far :D

45+mph AND good runtime? That's not too much to ask! Actually, that's a lot to ask if you don't want to pony up the cash.
One option:
Novak HV6.5 $250 with standard batteries and charger
This will get you near your speed, but the runtimes will not be good.
OR
Novak HV6.5 $250
Pair of True RC 6400mah/15C Lipo $180
charger $70.00
balancer $40.00
That's $540.00 and gives you the speed and runtime you want
OR
Mamba Max $100
External BEC $25
Feigao Motor$70
RC Monster Heatsink$30
TrueRC or Zippy 4s (2/2s)$180
Charger/balancer $110
That's $505.00 and gives you the speed and runtime you want

OOOOOOO thanks a lot :D. $600 is something i can handle but i was reading something that was around 1000. dont quite want to spend that much. Thanks for the ideas. Will the traxxas vilineon brushless system work with lipos on the e-revo or do you not recomend it?

BTW: wheres a good place/website to buy some of the stuff you were listing, Towerhobby doesnt seem to have a whole lot of it.
