New Engine Help

Hi guys, im new here but have had a savage .21 for a few years (5-6 or since they came out). I havent run it in about a year, and may need a new engine. I would like to replace it with a more powerful engine to keep up with some friends that run t-maxxes. Is this an option for an engine:

how about this?http://www.rcplanet.com/Cen_Nx76_Eng.../cegg70357.htm

i would love to have one of the most powerful/fastest engines available to fit my truck. Feel free to suggest some too.

Thanks.

just my opinion but your probly better off with a Axial .32 or .28 or a Picco .28
that motor u have there looks more of a bottom end motor and wont have any top end.

are those savage .21 compatible?

Axial .28, best bang for the buck, $120, easy to tune, and more power than you can probably handle. I suggest you also pick up a 47 tooth spur gear and a 17 tooth clutch bell with this motor. And yes it is a straight drop in replacement.

is it roto start compatible?

yes they sell one that is roto-start ready

Mach 427 off ebay is the best bang for your $ IMO.

can i take the rotostart and uprgrade heatsink from my stock .21 and put it on this?

it takes the roto-start system off of the k4.6 engine, i am betting you have the .25 motor in your savage, so you will have to buy a different rotostart backplate either way. Dont worry about changing the cooling head, the one on that motor is better than any aftermarket one plus chances are like i said you probably have the .25 motor so there is no way your cooling head would fit on a .28 motor.

no, i have a .21 as i stated earlier. not sure what i was thinkin on the heatsink ques. anyways, ive decided to keep my original hpi nitro star .21bb

thanks for all the help
financial situation isnt the greatest at the moment:cry:

didnt notice you mentioned you had a .21, but either way the .28 will still bolt right in. They are roto-start compatible you just need the gear set for the savage .28 motor as the one way bearing is inside the engine block instead of outside of it.

Money always gets in the way doesnt it? I hate not having enough, trust me i have had to deal with that a few times myself.
