Default OS 30VG is cutting off after 2 to 3 minutes

I have reset my needles back to what I beleive are factory settings.
HSN 2 3/4 out from closed
LSN 1 1/2 turns from flush with collar.
It is putting out smoke and runs fine for about 2 to 3 minutes and then cuts off. Temp is about 215.
I am running Monster Brew 20% with A5 OS plug.
New plug was installed.
Any advice?

Hi, sounds like it may be running a bit lean once it warms up. Try richening out the low end needle 1/2 and the hi speed out 1/2 and see if it helps.... I have also had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad batch of fuel.

If you still have dramas, try posting in the 'exclusive nitro engine thread' you will definately get your problem sorted there!!! Good Luck.

You motor is leaning out because of pipe and lack of fuel draw. Retune to base settings, run a warm plug and go with a good mid to high pipe. I had that problem with my RB 928. My temps (during the season) were 240 and the motor was working great then it would just shut down. I went to a JP-4 pipe. I was running a JP-2. The mid to high 3 chamber pipe works very well with high RPM big blocks. I switched to the JP-4 for the last race of the year and the motor ran better than it did all year. It refused to shut down even after a 25 min main. I'm installing a pressure chamber to keep the fuel tank pressure constant.

Oh yea, you need to run a OS 8 plug with 20%. Get rid of that 5, it's too cold. That might be a good point to start!!

That worked for me!

When you are tuning your engine tune it with about a half tank of fuel. Your engine will run leaner as the tank runs down.
