Narrowed 40 series Moabs on narrowed Pro Line wheels - Custom rock rings
This rig is sloooooooow

Blue specs:
Locked TXT axles
MFM Racing chassis

jjmz: Nice rig you have there!!!

Do you mind sharing you suspension setup of your orange rig with TXT cut chassis? I also have a stock TXT and I'm planning on modding it.

Any tips will also help!

Thanks!!!

Default TXT

The bottom of the chassis was removed, the trans relocated, and a custom bent skid. Then some of the upper part of the chassis lost weight also. I left a little of the diagonal support to drill for some choices in shock mounting.

I had to make all new links. I wanted to keep this a bit lower and make the links near vertical, I still was able to keep close to 4" clearance under the skid (see the pic with the soup can) of course the 40's helped with that. I made some link/shock mounts out of 5/8" Plexiglas for the axle, and some custom servo mounts out of alu.

Basically I wanted to use as many stock parts I could and the cant's had to go. The links cost the most, the rest was leftover material.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing! I'll try to do the same to my TXT. It's using TMaxx shocks right? How about articulation? I'm not into competitions though, just looking for a decent articulation for my crawler.

Default TXT

Yes they are TMaxx shocks ... It has plenty of articulation, probably more than I need. I can always limit the travel if I feel the need. It isn't that hard to mod a stock into this, the toughest part is getting the hacksaw started

Hope this helps and good luck with the TXT, they are great trucks

Nice rig! A couple of guys had some questions on torque twist, I solved it with swaybars, do you have that problem and or how did you solve it?

This guy elimated torque twist in his AX10 scorpion. But did not show how.

Default Torque twist

Mine has some twist, I tightened the preload on one side to help.

But won't that effect the ride height on that side? And also, for the non crawler trucks that would also effect how it jumps and rebounds right? Mine still has some twist too, I was thinking of mounting the shocks verticaly instead of cant. I guess I will have to deal with some twist using a NOVAK brushless 7.5! Would anyone know if I used a T-Maxx tranny, would it still have the automatic gear shift seeing as I would use a electric motor?

The ride height is not an issue, the preload's are set tight enough that the shocks don't have any sag. For my crawler I laid the shocks down to get more travel; the travel is smooth, no stiction. For non crawlers that jump it might help to stand the shocks up more vertical to get the full use out of the travel, without being too soft.

I haven't tried this, but I have read where some guys turn the trans 180 degrees in the chassis to fight torque twist. Don't know if it really works, but some claim good results doing this with the AX-10.

I don't know about fliping the tranny, that would just make it twist in the other direction. Also, it would make the truck go in reverse no? I guess it's just something to live with.
