Revo problems
I recently picked up a new revo, after a careful break in, I changed out the glow plug and am having problems, will not idle, get it to run and it shuts aff suddenly as soon as I let off the gas. I have even attempted to go back to factory settings but now will not run much.
Does this sound like I got a bad glow plug as most of the problems started after I changed this? Any suggestions would be nice.. I set the high Idle at 4 turns and the low idle is around 1.5 out...Help please:flaming: |
It could be any number of things, but after you have completed the break in it is best to change the glow plug and start tuning for performance.
With your LSN, it should be flush with the darker outside circle. If you check your manual it has a picture of where it should be. Once you have checked the factory settings, you may have to check the idle screw. Here is a link for you to look at to get these right. http://www.traxxas.com/support/index...&cat=88&id=450 Once you have these right, then give it another go. If it still plays up, it may be you got a bad glow plug, try a new one. Also, while RCTech is a great site for info, you can also get a lot of info on your revo from www.traxxas.com and the revo forums under the knowledge section. All the best. |
i would try another plug and it could also be tuning.

i thought the glow plug is only for starting. correct? the starter should also
indicate a bad plug. I experianced something similar. don't forget that you shouldn't touch your low speed needle until you have the high set at normal operating temps. WATCH FOR SMOKE. Make sure you are rich. you can have a lean bog too. My revo and my son,s t-maxx were giving us trouble in the mountainous area. usually have too fatten em up a little. |
glow plug always burns (thats where the mini explosion gets its heat or fire). it stays on from the explosions. so with that being said, no, the glow plug isn't just for starting.

Sounds like a throttle trim issue. If you are letting off the throttle and it dies, then it sounds like the idle is set too low and or the throttl trim needs to be turned up.
As far as the glowplug, it is always suggested, but not always necessary, to replace the glowplug after the break in period. As far as a "bad" glowplug, usually it either work or it doesnt. If you are able to start the engine, then the glow plug is strong enough and still intact. |
I would try another something else other then a revo.
Sorry could not resist. |
also could be and air leak....
|
glow plug
try and take the glow plug out and see if its glowing well if it could be you fule lines they could have air bubles in them take them out and blow down them it should work then

Fixed
Found out that storing the fuel in 110 degree makes the nitro content go away, new fuel, reset to factory and then tune for performance, all works great..
Thanks for all the help. |
yeah, that might do it to ya... Glad to hear you figured it out!

I used all the fuel at break in, so I picked up a gallon, ran the truck through a couple of tanks and put it away for a week or so, then started having all the problems. Spoke with guy at hobby shop, he said about the fuel, since he is familiar with the local climate around here.. Gets over 140 in garage during mid day in summer.

Always Try to keep your fuel in a cool dry place. Like inside in a safe place, if at all possible.

i keep my fuel in the refrigarator!

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM I CHANGED MY CLUTCH SHOES AND GLOW PLUG AND TUNED MY MOTOR AND NOW ITS PERFECT I RACE IT NOW
