Savage Center Diff Mods...

Hello everyone... I wanted to start a thread where everyone could chat and post pictures regarding modding their Savages with a center diff...

MadHacker 12-24-2006 08:36 PM

Here's one guy's implementation of the center diff in a Savage...

Does that leave it with only one gear? How do the MT's get a long without reduction transmissions?

MadHacker 12-29-2006 10:02 PM

Yes, this mod would make the MT a one speed... I've never done this mod myself, but it likely wouldn't be any different than running a UMT with only one gear... you just need to get the gearing right.

i think with one speed..u need an engine with high rpm with enough torque too. the center diff need to have lower gear ratio, so to cover the pickup/accelration and from here, use the engine high rpm to get the top end covered.

thats my 2 cents... i probably wrong.

great idea for a thread, since the center diff is very interesting especially for brushless converted ones.

I'm currently on the process on doing mine, so I'll post some material in due time.

The post above is a great starting point...
